I’d go insane if I did origami all day. In saying that though, I do do origami all day. Thank god for my pipe. I’ve had it for as long as I can remember.
This cough is starting to kill me. Have to cover my mouth when I do so the paper won’t go everywhere. Funnily enough though, it’s the dust from making origami all day that’s killing me, not the pipe.
I get paper cuts like you wouldn’t believe. It’s alright as long as you don’t get them on the webbing of your fingers. Funny thing again though, the only scars on my hands are from burn marks.
My right eye is sore. It must be bloodshot. It’s very difficult working with distractions like this. It’s not that I need to see what I’m doing, I don’t use them for anything, but it distracts the mind. On rare occasions I’ll open the window to hear the city outside, but I usually stick to the sound of my hands at work, or the smoldering inside the pipe.

Paper folding makes deadly dust? That's a a new one on me! I think that I'd take a look at the secondhand smoke coming from that pipe before I'd try to blame Origami!- Or perhaps your coughing is causing the paper to blow dust all over the place! Oh but I know! I'm missing the point of this little writing exercise again. You have writers block so you are writing about what you do when thinking about writing something! A good little distraction to get you unblocked! Bravo!~LOVE Brad

Sam, I have admired your descriptive words each time I have read your pieces. This is exceptional! You say so many things, your canvas of brushstrokes are wonderfully poignant and filled with pictures inside more pictures. Each time you read it, you find another image that you missed, a nuance, a detail that makes the first even more weighty for something so simplistic. (kinda like watching a movie, that every time you watch it you discover something new you didn't catch the last time, I do that with My Cousin Vinny, wonderful.) This is a real piece of life for this man, and I would love to sit quietly near him and hear the wonderful stories he has to share. Thanks, It was a pleasure, Lori

some writing is so simple, it can't be explained. there's more to this than what appears on the surface. could it be that you're saying contentment is in the mind of the beholder? this has a style all its own.
